California Knows How to Party! - Day 10

Today we began our day by trying to catch the ferry into San Francisco. "Trying" is the key word here.  We weren't late; in fact, we were ten minutes early.  BUT the parking area was full and we had no idea where else to park!  So we decided to just drive into the city.  That almost lead to a rough start to our adventure.

We eventually found our way to the Golden Gate Bridge but we exited at the last second because we didn't understand how the toll system worked (it's a no-stop toll area). We pulled over and Googled it. Much to our surprise, we stopped at a beautiful look out area and were about to catch a glimpse of the bridge from below.

I left my sunglasses in the car so I'm a little squinty...

After figuring out what to do about the tolls and Googling the best places to park near Pier 39, we were off again!

Once we parked, we walked to Pier 39, which reminded us much of Broadway at the Beach in Myrtle Beach and the Navy Pier in Chicago, we walked over to Hard Rock San Francisco! We decided to grab lunch and bought our souvenir shot glass before continuing to stroll Pier 39.

Twisted Mac and Cheese.  Mmmm.

This store was a crazy puzzle store, it was great!

We collect these too.

We went into this crazy hat store and played for a bit.

Hey WB, I have a good Batman Face.

Near the end of the pier we saw a really funny magician doing a magic show. It was great. I caught some of the big finally (catching a paintball fired from a gun in his mouth).

Once we were at the end of the pier, we had a great view of the bay and Alcatraz.

We also saw some sea lions. Usually, there are lots to see but it is their birthing season so most have migrated for a while.

After shopping and sightseeing at Pier 39 we headed towards Jackson St. to meet the Inkshares team! Inkshares Publishing are the ones putting out Ageless, the novel Paul wrote. They were great people!  You can read a detailed version of what happened at Inkshares by clicking here.

We decided to walk Columbus all the way down to Ghiradelli Square. The chocolate makers started here in San Francisco and we had to get some free sample!  The chocolate is amazing!

After that we walked back to our parking garage and head back to Kim and Lisa's house for homemade Chicken Parm! It was heavenly! After cleaning up from dinner, we all relaxed and did some planning for the rest of our time here and unwound with a little TV. It was a great day!
